GÜLERMAK URBAN LABS
ACCELERATING INNOVATION IN CONSTRUCTION
Gülermak, in partnership with Impulse Partners, seeks to join forces with innovative startups to accelerate technology deployment on construction jobsites
KISTA TRAMWAY – STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN
The City of Stockholm contracted Gülermak to design and build the Kista line — an eight kilometers long tramway line serving the northwestern outskirts of Stockholm. The project is currently in construction phase: concrete pouring, bridge and tunnel construction. Gülermak seeks to invite best-in-class startups on the Kista line jobsite in Stockholm to run a pilot experiment and validate the feasibility and viability of their solution. Selected teams must therefore commit to frequently travel to Stockholm during a 3-month long pilot project — some check-in meetings may however be held remotely.

FAQ
Is the program cohort-based?
Yes, will select 1-3 startups to enter a 3-month long accelerator program, but we remain flexible with the timeline of each startup's pilot project.
Is the program free of costs?
If you are selected in the program, you will be offered to either cover your own travel and pilot project expenses, or we can cover these expenses in exchange for a 150,000€ equity take on your next funding round.
Is the program in-person or remote?
The program cohort will be required to frequently travel to Stockholm to implement their pilot project and meet the local partners during a 3-month period. Check-in meetings will be held remotely the rest of the time.
How are the startups selected?
Our team will carefuly review all applications submitted before July 15th, 2022 and invite the most relevant candidates to pitch to a panel of jury. Following the pitch day, 1-3 startups will be selected to enter the program.
How much equity does Gülermak take?
To accelerate the startups go-to-market strategy and generate win-win collaborations, Gulermak will take the financial risk and bear the costs incurred for the startup (travel expenses, product and services) plus the costs incurred within Gulermak or the Client (extra staffing, access costs, etc.) during the pilot phase. $150K in equity from your next funding round will be asked to compensate that risk and cover the accelerator program costs — unless you decide to cover your own expenses throughout the pilot.
What is the workload and required effort for startups when joining the program?
The workload will depend on the nature of each project. While we don’t require a minimum of hours, we do expect participants to be available to travel to Stockholm and put required time and effort to meet targeted pilot objectives. We also expect participants to actively participate and engage in the program to fully benefit from the network and business development coaching (participate in pitch sessions, provide information for investors, etc.).
Wat type of mentoring, coaching and funding opportunities are offered?
Access to expertise as well as coaching and mentoring will be provided through Impulse Partners’ network and local program partners to support the pilot projects. The support will be tailored to the startups’ needs and maturity level.
